SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 14

Requesting the Division of Highways conduct a feasibility study for
upgrading Route 10 from Man, Logan County, to Route 19 in
Mercer County.

Whereas, Accessibility from the southern portion of Logan
County to the extreme southern part of West Virginia is difficult;
and

Whereas, Enhancing the economy of southern West Virginia is
vital to the citizens of this isolated area of our state; and

Whereas, The upgrading of Route 10 from Man, Logan County, to
Route 19 in Mercer County would make a connection from central
southern West Virginia to an area close to the Virginia border; and

Whereas, In order to enhance the job opportunities of citizens
in isolated areas of southern West Virginia, upgrading the existing
route to the Princeton, Mercer County area would serve as a
catalyst in providing jobs and economic stability to central
southern West Virginia; therefore, be it

Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That the Legislature hereby requests the Division of Highways
conduct a feasibility study regarding the upgrading of Route 10
from Man, Logan County, to Route 19 in Mercer County; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the Senate is hereby
directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Secretary of
the Department of Transportation and the Commissioner of the
Division of Highways.
